Amazon Expands Budget Shopping App ’Bazaar’ to Challenge Temu and Shein
Amazon is aggressively expanding its budget shopping app, Bazaar, to 14 new markets across Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The MOVE directly pits the e-commerce giant against Chinese rivals Temu and Shein, which have dominated the low-cost, direct-to-consumer space.
Bazaar offers fashion, home, and lifestyle products, with most items priced below $10—some as low as $2. The app leverages Amazon's global logistics network but omits local payment wallets, leaving room for fintech partnerships. Analysts question whether Amazon's undisclosed fulfillment strategy will make Bazaar a sustainable venture or a short-term subsidy play.
